A soft grounding is felt through the pages, guided by echoes sonorous in blue. Its wakefulness is voiced alongside its light-dark cycle, and within these spaces I am both matutinal and vespertine. Its gentle unfolding occurs through each succession of image, and is felt in its steadied pause in breath. Images work as gifts within the poetic signal. Its light tones extend as unadorned lyrics. They appear in us as transformative exhalations, our voices carriers of the knowing, its clouds taking shape in a gestured caress. Their thread-suns encourage the opening of a center, for divergence, for an unfixed-ness to a particular place or reading, save for each new sun.

Forest and Light is a collaborative artist book published by black cat day dream press. It features artwork and text by Foster Mickley and a textual contribution by Tateno Ryunosuke. The book invites readers to the Kamigamo Experimental Forest Station, a research facility dedicated to forest ecology.
